304 Stainless Steel Mesh Panels, Sheets and Rolls

304 stainless steel mesh is one of the most commonly used material in the industrial and commercial fields. SS 304 also known as 18/8 stainless steel because of its composition of 18% chromium and 8% nickel. 304 stainless steel mesh has many benefits such as excellent corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low-temperature strength, good workability and other mechanical properties.

SS304 is non-magnetic in the annealed condition, but might be slightly magnetic after cold working. One of the excellent properties is heat resistance. It presents a good oxidation resistance at a maximum temperature of 870℃(1600℉)for intermittent service and 925℃(1700℉)for continuous service.

  • Available structure: woven, welded, perforated, expanded
  • Mesh size available in: Super fine mesh and coarse mesh

Types of 304 Stainless Steel Mesh

The structure of 304 stainless steel mesh is available in woven, welded, perforated and expanded, these structures are designed to meet different purposes.

Woven Mesh: stainless steel woven wire mesh is composed of interwoven stainless steel wires. Its manufacturing process is similar to that of loom weaving. The finished woven mesh looks like cloth, so it is also called wire cloth. Weaving thicker stainless steel wire needs to be completed by the cooperation of machines and manual labor. Woven mesh is mainly used for filtering and sieving purposes. For example, ultra-fine stainless steel woven mesh is used to filter fine impurities in liquid and gas.

Weld Mesh: stainless steel welded wire mesh is a product in which a series of vertically crossing stainless steel wires are welded by an welding machine to form a grid. The shape of the grid is usually square. The welded mesh with smaller openings is widely used as hardware product, so it is also called hardware cloth. It is widely used as fence panels, filter supports, screens and sieves, etc.

Perforated Mesh, 304 stainless steel perforated mesh is a sheet product in which a punching machine penetrates the steel plate to form a series of hole patterns. It is widely in various screens, sieves, building facades, etc.

Expanded Mesh: Stainless steel expanded mesh is a mesh structure formed by cutting through a metal panel with a row of multiple cutters and then stretching the incision. Applications are various, such as fence panels, stair grating, etc.
