Looks similar to the plain weave, but each of the warp and shute wires is woven alternately over two or more successive shute and warp wires, keeping a constant distance between adjacent ones, respectively.
Heavier wires can be employed, which cannot be used for plain weave wire cloths.
A wire cloth with small openings can be produced using such heavy wire that the opening size comes to be almost the same as the wire diameter.
